Bushy Park International Goes Ahead as Planned

This weekend's (September 1/2) Digicel Williams Seaboard Marine International Race Meet at Bushy Park will go ahead as planned, unaffected by an on-going Police investigation. Sunday's 22-race programme features round two of the 2012 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC).

Barbados Auto Racing League Chairman Adrian Mayers said: "I can confirm that this investigation will have no affect on our Race Meet, and that patrons will see the full complement of 12 CMRC cars entered in action this weekend."

Mayers added that those members of the regional motor racing fraternity questioned during Thursday had been released.

Qualifying is slated for 1.00pm on Saturday, when admission is free. There will be seven 20-minute sessions, the last of which caters for the Seaboard Marine CMRC cars, which are scheduled to be on track at around 3.00pm. Once Qualifying is complete, a further period of Free Practice will be permitted until 6.00pm.

The gates open at 6.00am on Sunday. Prices have been pegged at 2011 levels, with admission to the Grounds at $30 and the Clubhouse at $45, while Grounds Parking is now free. The only tickets on sale in advance are those for the BARL VIP Experience, which sell at $250.

Racing starts at 9.00am, after the traditional herringbone formation. The 22-race programme will culminate in the popular Monster Energy Drink Handicap.
