The
day started kind of on a medium pace due to the fact that we
where using a different type of tyre and not to familiar with
them. It turned out that these where the best tyres we have
driven the starlet on so far. As the day progressed we got faster
and faster as Cliff got more confident with the new tyres. The
car worked really well and the only problem we faced was a broken
exhaust on Special Stage 10.
The
stages were great, and most of all I really like the new section
added to Orange Hill and i am not a big fan of the BUMMPY
section in Canefield. All and all we had a good rally with
a couple of close calls on Orange Hill, Canefield and Cherry
Tree Hill. As far as the timing went it was not too bad but
it had its moments with minor problems. I know for sure that
we left the spectators at Kendal Pond in a frenzy with the
SIDEWAYS manoeuvres in those two corners.
On
behalf of Cliff and Myself we would like to thank our sponsors,
Lucky Horse Shoe, Nassco, Michelin and Roetts Garage.
Congratulations to all the other competitors and thanks to
all the Marshals on a job well done.
As Lindsay would say the race is not for the swift but for
the STARLET.
