Trevor Manning (Barbados)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V
Trevor "Micey" Manning was the man of the day at the popular Caymanas Jump. He hit the jump flat out on the gas. We watched in amazement as the Evo 5 defied gravity until we realised it was necessary to engage running mode. Everyone started to dash for cover in the cane ground as Micey approached for landing. Parts started to fly as his car returned to earth. I watched in disbelief as the car bounced from left to right as he tried to correct the car. I thought this was the first time I was going to see Micey crash, but my fears were laid to rest as he skilfully regained control. It wasn't the same Evo though, as it sputtered and limped away. It was shortly out of the rally with damaged suspension. Micey was totally winded from his jump. He hurt his back and was unable to breath for a few meters when the car landed. However, he had already made a great impression on the Jamaicans. Everywhere you went they were talking about him and wished he were still in the rally.

Micey left souvenirs after he landed
The things I heard fans saying about Micey were quite funning, especially in a Jamaican accent. One of the spectators said "When we first see Micey, we see this man walk to the car like so," and he began to demonstrate in a "squeeze up" nerd walk (Micey is kinda slim). "We say, im nah go win nuh-un. But when de man come through de 90, nuhbody nah see im! De man ah come through dey faster than anybody else. De man a lunatic!"

Navigator Wilbert Hinds suffered a painful pinched nerve after hitting his head when the car landed from one of the jumps. He was taken good care of at the hospital and we saw him later that evening having fun at the prize giving ceremony… with a noticeable stiff neck.
