Location: Caymanas North |
|
Caymanas North was the first stage of the
day. When we arrived, the stage had already been started.
I heard this car coming and it was coming quick! Through
the crowd I barely managed to spot the flicker of a green
and yellow car as it flew by. My thoughts, "Dat look like
Micey yuh!" The crowd all leant forward and simultaneously
looked to the left as they watched it approach the upcoming
left 90. There was a brief moment of silence as they watched….
Then boisterous cheering erupted from the crowd! My thoughts,
"dat got to be Micey." I saw Jamaicans scrambling for
their rally books trying to figure out who it was. It
was off course none other than Barbadian Trevor "Electric
Micey" Manning in his Mitsubishi Evo V. He won the 1st
stage defeating top drivers such as Doug Gore by 2 seconds
and Jeffrey Panton by 15 seconds. |
